Illustration and Graphic Design project from senior year at Pratt. My visualization of E.E. “Doc” Smith’s classic science fiction novel. The influence of legendary illustrator Frank Kelly Freas, one of my inspirations, is clearly seen here. However, the old school tech single-color 3M color-key film did not survive the house fire. So this new cover design is modern, created in Adobe Indesign.

I am a shameless sci-fi geek, so I don’t really bemoan the loss of that old art. I’m a better designer now, so I was actually pretty excited to take another tilt at that classic cover.
